German course program for adults

We study grammar rules (Grammatik)

Detailed analysis of grammatical structures and rules together with the teacher. The center devotes a lot of time to this part. And in order to understand the logic of the language, we constantly discuss what we have learned, give examples from everyday life, and compare German with Ukrainian. This way, differences and rules are quickly memorized.

Expanding vocabulary (Wortschatz)

Smart dictionaries with correct pronunciation of words on the platform. Teachers actively use the lexical approach: after first learning a phrase, students immediately use it in context — they write down not the word, but the sentence, and use it in practical classes and in communication.

Practicing communication (Sprechen)

We always start the first practical classes with simple vocabulary. This is a kind of “warm-up” for students — casual short conversations about how things are going, what they did over the weekend, and how their studies are going. This helps students relax and makes it easier for them to concentrate later. At the beginning of the course, there is not much communication, but then we gradually increase the pace when there is enough vocabulary to have a meaningful and interesting conversation. It is a conversation, not a retelling or a memorized text.

Reading in German (Lesen)

School instincts are always effective. That is why we have kept the blackboard in the online format and even improved it, so that students can see all the material in one field of vision, which means that their concentration yields twice the result. The teacher reads what is written first, and the group repeats after him — they have to read constantly.

Listening to the teacher (Hören)

Here, teachers use an adaptation of what is called the “direct method.” That is, they avoid speaking Ukrainian — instead, they first express their thoughts in German and then translate them. Over time, there is less and less translation.

Preparing for tests (Prüfungsvorbereitung)

  • TestDaF – we study specialized vocabulary.
  • TELC C1 HS – we focus on the academic part of the language.
  • DTZ – we practice everyday communication.
  • Goethe-Zertifikat C2 – we improve the highest levels to perfection.

  • Advantages of German courses for adults

    Evidence-based learning

We adhere to the rule: more associations – more memorable. The program is as flexible as possible because the topics we cover in class are relevant, different from “book learning,” and taken from the ideas of modern network algorithms – personalization and relevance.

    21st century teachers

Freedom of teaching is the same as freedom of learning. We give teachers the freedom to integrate their own methods into the program, as long as they do not contradict the principles of our educational center: concentration and curiosity.

    Distance learning

Comfort to step out of your comfort zone. Why make unnecessary efforts — travel halfway across town to a tutor, spend half a day on the road, raise your hand, which will go unnoticed, when we have transferred all the advantages of traditional learning online and improved them. Learn more in our Close to You format.

    Von Null zum Helden

We are not afraid of ignorance, because it is a blank slate, ready for a masterpiece. We have a special course that starts at level A0 for students who have never dealt with the German language before. In one year of study, they progress to levels B2–C1.

    Adaptation

Methodologists select the necessary materials and adapt the lexical content to the student’s level. This makes it easier for them to break out of the hermeneutic circle — alternating between the inevitable stress and the pleasure of learning. It’s like at the gym: you train, and then you recover.

How exactly do German lessons for adults at AP Courses work?

    Warm-up

The first 5 minutes of the lesson

The teacher prepares the students for the lesson: engages in a short conversation in German — asks how everyone is doing, recalls the topic covered last time, and tells them what they will be studying today.

    Vocabulary

    Next 15 minutes

Next to the teacher, a window with new words opens on the screen — we familiarize ourselves with them, translate them, and look at examples.

    Grammar

    Main 25 minutes

We reinforce the rules from the previous lesson, analyze sentences with new words, each student applies what they have learned in exercises, and asks questions.

    Listening, reading, pronunciation

The last important 15 minutes of the lesson

The teacher gives recommendations on pronunciation, and the student must listen, read the example, and pronounce the sentence correctly.

    Practical classes

    Communication

In the early stages of learning, theory accounts for 70% of the program, but gradually the practical part increases until students begin to speak at a level close to that of a native speaker — they stop confusing words, refine their pronunciation, and express logical, structured thoughts.

Why choose German courses for adults at AP Courses

We do not promise quick results, but when you finish this marathon, you will have a guarantee of success.

Learn the language intuitively and consistently — the rules will be learned later. We communicate immediately to give you a chance to make mistakes and remember them. This is the only way learning produces results.

Focus only on the topics you need; there is no point in wasting time on things you won’t need. That’s why we tailor our programs to each individual.

Make learning a pleasant daily routine, not a constant worry. We don’t overload you with information, but alternate between different paces.

Use modern methods, because that’s the only way to learn a foreign language in today’s world.

Frequently asked questions and answers about German courses for adults

What level can I start learning?

We accept students with different levels of knowledge. Our program library contains materials for every stage of German language acquisition: from absolute beginner to C1 level. Your current level will be accurately determined during the first lessons.

    How often are classes held?

The schedule varies depending on the level: 3 classes/week for beginners, 4 for intermediate levels, 2 for advanced levels. Students receive their schedule at the beginning of the course. Classes for busy people are mostly held in the evening or morning hours. We will help you coordinate your schedule with your work or other commitments — for more information, please contact us using the details provided on the page.

Which is better: group or individual lessons?

Choose group or individual lessons based on your goals and preferences, not on preconceived notions — only the student can determine what works best for them. Each format guarantees sufficient attention from the teacher. If you feel more comfortable working independently, choose individual or “mixed” lessons, and if the group gives you additional motivation, stick with it throughout the course, but remember that you can always change.

Can I make up for a missed class?

Yes, we record each lesson and send it to students if necessary. They also have the option to join a class with another group or reschedule the class to a convenient time if it is part of an individual course. For more questions about rescheduling and the schedule, please contact the service manager or teacher.

Do I need to purchase textbooks and materials separately?

The course fee includes all necessary materials from methodologists and additional resources on the online platform. The center provides students with manuals, exercises, and space for practice. If a student has an urgent need for other materials, teachers and managers are always available to assist.
