German for children with games and quests

Classes are held in the Close to You format, which is an innovative way of online learning with some of the advantages of the traditional school approach. Students simultaneously see the teacher and the teaching material in the form of 3D models, and follow the events of an educational cartoon.

We have replaced homework with quests on online platforms.

This develops children’s memory, helps them quickly learn new vocabulary, and actively use it in communication with classmates and in dialogues with the teacher.

“Teenagers get bored in class, but they love cartoons and games. And we’ve combined these things!” — Head of AP Courses

Frequently asked questions and answers about German courses for children

At what age can a child start learning German?

According to psychologists, children under the age of 3-5 will not perceive educational information in its traditional form, i.e., in manuals, books, and other single-format materials. Therefore, other methods must be sought. It is recommended that children under the age of 3 be introduced to a foreign language through songs, cartoons, simple words, and greetings. Then, this introduction should be made more diverse, changing the format to a game and adding everyday dialogues. When a child starts school, parents should begin systematic learning — acquiring basic knowledge — but not forget about motivation and the effectiveness of the child’s hobbies and interests in the learning process.

Can a child learn German from scratch?

Yes, we have courses for beginners. But this learning will be different at different ages, so parents should be prepared for the fact that in some cases the course will take longer. We have taken this nuance into account in the development of adapted programs for different ages. For students with no prior knowledge, we have developed a special program and integrated a similar concept into the development of children’s education. Its essence is a gradual increase in workload. From familiarization and texts adapted to the Ukrainian language, to discussing complex topics and reading the Brothers Grimm in the original.

How do online German lessons for children work?

Programs for children are designed to interest and fully engage the child in learning German, so topics are covered in an interactive format. Namely: learning words in a smart dictionary and with the help of 3D models, as well as cartoons with the necessary vocabulary. This is how the theoretical lessons are conducted, while the practical lessons take the form of quests on online platforms and games, where you need to use phrases in German and variations of examples to test your understanding of the rules. Lessons can be conducted individually or in groups, depending on your request.

Do I need to buy German textbooks for my child?

You can purchase books if you need additional training, but we will send all the materials necessary for the course electronically. In our work, we have noticed that there is no need for textbooks. Since the training format works effectively in combination with interactive methods, it is not advisable to use printed publications here. The ideas behind our program are constantly in line with the foundations of traditional schooling, but the style of presentation and approaches in the methods are completely different and more relevant to our times.

Is there a trial German lesson for children?

Yes, AP Courses offers a trial German lesson for children. This lesson is free and is designed to help our most ambitious students decide whether the learning format and teaching style suit them and whether our modest center meets their ambitions. It also allows the teacher to determine the level of each student and enables the parents of these students to guide them in making the right choice.

Is it possible to choose individual German lessons for a child?

Yes, at AP Courses you can choose individual German lessons for your child. They are useful in cases where students have missed an important point in group lessons and have the opportunity to repeat and consolidate everything that is difficult in a one-on-one setting with a teacher.
You can also take the entire course in an individual format. Here, your child will receive a more personalized approach with a convenient schedule chosen together with their parents, and will also progress quickly and study in a more comfortable atmosphere.
